In June, a month brings joy and excitement. A time where the energy integrates toward unity and compassion. Streams Gallery alliances with five young artists from Korea, Philippines and Thailand, celebrating the vibrant youth movement through their dynamic works. Showcasing the unique perspectives of these emerging artists, whose creations reflect their individual identities and experiences.
Aldrin Dave Basister, Philippines based, his signature is using childlike characters in his works. Particularly evocative of childhood innocence, with bright and vivid colours that create an atmosphere of joy and wonder. His characters often appear in strange and surreal settings, further blurring the line between reality and imagination.
Ireland Jill, Thailand based, multidisciplinary artist, who creates children figure characters. She created a character called “Bruha” where she stated that “Bruha is an alter I imagine myself to be if I were the same age as my son.”, she created a fantastical world of her own that serves as a playground for all her characters.
Jun Ming (차이밍쥔), Korean artist, characterised by his unique characters with bold and bright colours. His inspirations are from his experiences of travelling and different cultures, expressing the mysterious adventures through his paintings.
Kittipong Khamsat, Thailand based, who is a huge animal lover. He creates animal figure characters which also mix with his imagination and inspiration from his adopted animals.
Karyl Nerona, Philippines based artist. The character with a donut eye is her own reflection on herself, implying although the journey may have been rough, however we should take the bright side in different situations. Along with her favourite elements to hold her accountable, makes her experience a meaningful life.
